PS Cafe needs no introduction, and this Ann Siang Hill outlet is the perfect spot if you’re looking to hang out in the city without all the hustle and bustle. It’s a great spot for brunch, but head over at night for a totally different and romantic atmosphere. Try the Fish & Chips which is infused with local Tiger beer, a crispy shell encasing a delicious fork-tender fish. The Crab Tart is also something you can have for both lunch or dinner. Handpicked slivers of blue swimmer crab are spiced up with chilli and kaffir lime, sitting pretty in a rich buttery shortcrust with prawn bisque. Brand new in the ‘hood is Brooklyn Bar Sg, where you can expect drinks to be no less impressive than any of the other top popular cocktail bars in the area. Try the Beef Tacos that is based on a recipe from someone’s grandmother in Brooklyn. The interior decor is warm, welcoming and unpretentious with a rather hip and cool underground basement space. #10 The Corner Grill

An underrated gem is The Corner Grill, a grill-house at Ann Siang Hill specialising in artisanal burgers, grilled seafood and meat. Helmed by Chef Colin West who has experience at Market Grill, Les Amis, and Huber’s Butchery, you can expect a satisfying meal. For starters, pick from a choice of duck, pork, salmon, beef or chicken liver pate with mushrooms for the Rillettes Trio. Mains includes chargrilled burgers which are made from Chef Colin West’s original recipes. Try the Grilled Fish Burger, a Pommery-marinated Patagonian toothfish with baby Roma tomatoes, romaine lettuce, a dash of lemon-herbed mayo, and sandwiched between parmesan buns.

CU Bar is an absolute must for anyone looking for a chill and unpretentious venue, where they can have a conversation and enjoy excellent drinks. Their Bloody Mary comes highly raved by netizens. Submerged in the perfectly made Bloody Mary is a skewer of a full juicy cocktail prawn, olive and ending with a cut of frozen tomato to keep the drink cold without diluting it.
