#2 Knockhouse Cafe

Knockhouse Cafe stands out above the crowd for its well-crafted cups of joe. Aside from the coffee, this bistro also pumps out a number of cafe bites that are hearty and pleasing. #3 State of Affairs

State of Affairs is a coffeehouse serving brews roasted in-house and can be enjoyed in its cosy space in a variety of ways. If you’d like a quick pick-me-up, their signature Black Honey is worth a shot, and the Dirty White is creamy and oh-so addictive as well. Aside from their coffee specialties, State of Affairs offers yummy mains as well, which include Miso Butter Salmon, Pesto Fettuccine, Pulled Beef Brisket and more.

#4 SOD Cafe

SOD Cafe started out as a bubble tea shop originally, and you can expect the same boba tea options here at their second outlet in Upper Thomson. The Tan Milk Tea has a subtle charcoal oolong flavour to the smooth milk tea base, while the Summer Fruit SOD Tea is fruity and refreshing. You can also choose to add black pearls as well, which are chewy with a great bite. Apart from drinks, the cafe also offers a variety of small bites, mains and all-day brunch.

Hailing from Western Australia is Yahava Koffee Works, which serves delicious coffee, cakes, sandwiches and more. Thus Coffee is a specialty coffee joint with an in-house roast and blend that they use for their coffees which promises a robust pick-me-up, but beyond a good cuppa the food here is also to die for. Think an in-house breakfast plate that features sous vide eggs on a fluffy muffin, paired with apple cider sausage, back bacon, mushrooms, and baked beans. Or the Salmon & Kale Toast, a fluffy brioche toastie topped with smoked salmon and avocado, creamy eggs, and a spinach and feta salad.

For some artisanal desserts, check out Patisserie G at Thomson Plaza, which uses quality ingredients and French pastry techniques to create its dainty pastries.
