Food and Drinks at 6 Letter Coffee

For starters and sharing, there’s the 6nature Wings featuring soy-sauce mid-wings topped with cashew nuts, sesame seeds and wild rocket. The wings are fried till they are golden brown and crisp, then drenched in a thick and sticky soy sauce for a sweet and savoury note. The meat comes off the bone easily and they’re juicy, tender and succulent, while the cashew nuts add some textural contrast and crunchiness to the dish. It’s a great one to share across the table and certainly worthy of being one of the cafe’s signature dishes.

If you’ve got a big appetite, the 6 Letter Brunch comes with crispy house-made rosti, smoked salmon, sunny side up, shiitake mushrooms, avocado mash, mixed salad and fresh fruit. Talk about a balanced meal! The rosti is crisp and well seasoned, though it lacks a buttery flavour as it is pan-fried with healthy olive oil. Some might be missing the usual dollop of sour cream, but the avocado mash is a tasty change. Not to mention it is a healthier alternative too!

Another recommended brunch item is the Arabiki Sausages & Pancakes that comes with a sunny side up and a side of garden salad. The pancakes are beautifully cooked with an even brown surface and a fluffy texture. Even if they are a little flat and irregularly shaped, they definitely don’t lack in flavour and are yummy with some maple syrup. The sausages are pretty flavourful and savoury too, providing a flavour and texture contrast to create a sweet and savoury element. It might not be for everyone, but it is sure to be a hit for those who love sweet-savoury food combinations.

Feeling pasta instead? The Smoked Duck Carbonara features spaghetti done al-dente, retaining a good bite. Laced in a rich cream sauce with bits of bacon that is rich and thick without being overwhelming, excessive or jelak, the dish is further enhanced by slices of smoked duck, providing a savoury, meaty bite. It is a dish that you can’t go wrong with, simple yet satisfying to have!

For some classic cuppas, there are options like the Cappuccino which has a delightful flavour – just a hint of bitterness, yet not too overpowering, with lingering notes of dark chocolate and little to no acidity. Or, go for the Flat White; a medium-bodied cuppa with an earthy and nutty flavour profile, well-pulled and smooth and creamy overall. A good cuppa that would work well for an afternoon pick-me-up!

For something cold to cool off from the heat, there are a selection of cold brews. The White Honey Coffee Cold Brew is smooth, lightly and naturally sweetened from honey, with notes of chocolate coming through. The cafe also serves a variety of milkshakes, juices, teas and beers!
It’s also worth a mention that the cafe has several power points and free WiFi, making it not just a great hangout for those living in the vicinity of Katong or those exploring the area for the day, it would also make a good spot to get some work done! Overall it is a great space away from the hustle and bustle of the more crowded areas around it. And with its well-executed menu, it’s a great spot to check out if you’re in the East.
